3 ½ “Different” Things to do in Nashville
Commonly known as the “Music City,” the obvious destinations would be to hit the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman’s Auditorium, and the Wildhorse Saloon - 3 floors of line dancing, food, and live music.
But what if you’re not a country music fan? Or you’ve seen all that before?
Don’t worry - Nashville has a lot of different things to offer!
Get High
Start your day off with a breathtaking experience from Middle Tennessee Hot Air Adventures.* Hop on board a hot air balloon and view the sunrise and the Nashville skyline while floating over some of the most beautiful rolling hills Middle Tennessee has to offer.
Art and History
If you’re a History buff, you’ll enjoy the next item on my list: The History and Art scene. “The Athens of the South” is host to some amazing museums, art galleries, and historical places.
Set aside some time during the day to visit The Parthenon* in Centennial Park.
This museum is an exact replica (in size and detail) of the original temple in Athens, Greece. Inside the Parthenon is a 42-foot golden statue of the ancient goddess of war, Athena, as well as an art gallery and multiple marble casts molded from the original fragments found in the Parthenon in Greece.
Haunted Nashville
Finally, finish off your “different” tour of Nashville with a stop at the Nashville Nightmare.* Not only do they have fun at Halloween, but they have events year-round!
Check out their haunted house, test your skills at axe throwing, try to get out of an escape room, or get lost in an Egyptian laser maze. You can even enjoy a “spooky libation” while you’re there at the Bar Nightmare.
P.S.
As a former restaurant owner, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Nashville’s food scene. Here you’ll find some of the country's best restaurants and cafes. Get yourself a hot chicken sandwich or drop in at the Loveless Cafe* for an amazing home-cooked meal.
But since food isn’t really a “different” thing to do, consider this my ½ entry on the list.
